Why It Exists: It's too loud and abrupt. The iPhone does not have a setting where the alarm can begin with a low fade in and gradually raise the volume.
2. The rest of the house could be freezing while my room is fairly stagnant.
Why It Exists: Assuming the circulation of the air conditioner unit in the apartment is not the best or most efficient.
3. The WiFi at the Starbucks I work at is super slow or does not work at all so I can never get homework done or watch lectures during any of my breaks.
Why It Exists: The cafe is usually crowded with people on their laptops and are overpowering the router that is probably not top of the line.
4. I pay monthly to watch shows on Hulu that still have too many ads which makes binging hard even if the show is only 15 minutes.
Why It Exists: Hulu gains money from companies who want their ads played during any of the shows the service provides.
5. Netflix continuously becomes more expensive or adds tiers for more screens.
Why It Exists: Since the demand is higher for the service and they now create original series, they can higher the price because people will pay it and they need to fund their own projects.
6. The iPhone charger is very weak and prone to break or stop working eventually.
Why It Exists: Apple does not make completely durable accessories because it gains more profit from people consistently buying new ones.
7. The only shoe I really want in the store does not have my size.
Why It Exists: The companies don't estimate the amount of sizes in a shoe they will actually sell correctly in turning disappointing many size 7's in boys such as myself.
8. Having to go through 20mph all over UF campus.
Why It Exists: Supposed to keep students from being severely harmed by cars when the campus is crowded with everyone walking to classes during the day.
9. The size of the Caprisun pouch not being enough to quench my thirst.
Why It Exists: The pouches are supposed to appeal to children who do not need to consume as much as an adult may want to.
10. Working 30-40+ hours at a job that is only supposed to be part time.
Why It Exists: Understaffed stores and the time and cost to keeping training and hiring new people.
11. Having to pay for feminine products for issues I did not choose or ask for.
Why It Exists: The companies who produce these items have to take advantage of unavoidable problems to make profits and contribute to the economy.
12. Having to pay taxes even without assurance of where the money will go to or be used for.
Why It Exists: To fund government projects, even those that have to be done that people wouldn't necessarily choose to fund if it were a voluntary effort.
13. Running out of gas and having to pay outrageous amounts if prices are up.
Why It Exists: Gas prices fluctuate depending on many different factors such as supply and demand, or prices to import.
14. Having to deal with rude or impatient customers during work.
Why It Exists: There are certain times where demand is high for a business and having to deal with so many at once can slow down a service.
15. Having people bump into or have no manners toward you in public places.
Why It Exists: People from different cultures and backgrounds have different norms that we may not be used to where they may think is no big deal.
16. Dealing with an unreasonable amount of traffic after a long day of work.
Why It Exists: There are specific times where most people are leaving work at the same time, going in the same directions, causing congestion.
17. Watching my coworkers all walk by overflowing trash.
Why It Exists: Everyone waits for someone to get it and in turn, no one gets it.
18. Having to pay high prices for prescribed medicine that you awfully need.
Why It Exists: Someone has to cover the costs of creating the medicines in the first place.
19. The difficulties of trying to be healthy.
Why It Exists: Healthy food is expensive and doesn't taste good
20. Not being able to hold your pee when you just feel it

ReplyDeleteI found your post hilarious. For certain items, I literally felt your aggravation in your statement. I think you did a great job of digging deep and picking your specific bugs. One thing we have in common is #11. A bug that I never realized annoyed me until I read it lol. Thank you for such an honest post. It was funny but also very honest and insightful.

ReplyDeleteI know the idea of when in the house the living room is nice and cold, and the place is relatively stagnant. We all have been in that one when you have to go pee and can't hold it. Also, in #16, when you have been all day at work and then dealing with a big dropkick is a horrible bugfix.

ReplyDeleteI loved your bug list! Your list was filled with personality, humor, and relatable frustrations. I felt that your post had a degree of uniqueness and individuality that I haven’t seen in other posts. I really felt like I was getting to know Nina in this list! The only critique I would have is that I felt that the bugs were getting a little lazy towards the end (but that is totally expected when trying to come up with 20 things). Overall really enjoyed this post!
